Turning over a New Leaf
Video Transcribed: What would Oklahoma State Question 820 do, if passed, to address prior marijuana crimes? I am Tulsa Medical Marijuana Business Lawyer Ope Adegbuyi.
The ballot initiatives set up a process for older marijuana convictions to be reversed, resentenced, or dismissed. This means that courts must approve expungement unless there’s a risk to public safety.
That means if you had a prior marijuana-related case, if this State Question 820 is passed, that means if it’s voted, if you vote yes on the bill and multiple people vote yes and we have a majority vote, then any prior marijuana-related crimes that people might have will be reversed, resentenced, or dismissed.
