Ownership Request Process
Hello, this is Tulsa cannabis attorney Jesse Kovacs with the OK Cannabis Law Office. Today, we’re asking, can I still submit an ownership change request through my renewal application? The answer to that question is no. Unfortunately, with the new rules that OMMA has implemented regarding transfers of license licenses, any kind of business name change or ownership change is going to require a separate application by the new owner.
Basically, what the old owner does is get a transfer code from your Thentia portal and give that to the new owner to enter in to be able to submit their application for an ownership change or a business name change. Now, that application will be considered on its own. While that’s pending, any renewal applications that come up are still the responsibility of the old owner.
