What is it?
A Medical Marijuana Certificate of Compliance (MMCC) is an essential part of your application for a medical marijuana business license, whether you’re applying for a new license or a renewal. In order to have a medical marijuana business, you must comply with all city or county codes regarding waste, fire, zoning, and building safety codes.
How do I get one?
The first step in applying for a MMCC is assembling the required documents. You’ll need the application for the MMCC, the floor plan for your business, and a legal description of the property.
Once you have these documents, you’ll submit them to buildingpermitapplication@okc.gov. You must pay a fee when you submit your application. The fee depends on what type of business license you’re applying for. For example, a dispensary has a fee of $615 while a processing facility has a $750 fee.
After you’ve submitted these documents, various parties will inspect your business location for compliance. Depending on the location, you’ll either have to comply with city or county codes. It usually takes two to three weeks to complete the compliance approval process.
After that, you can get any necessary construction done at your business. Once the work is done, there will be more inspections. If you haven’t had any construction done and don’t believe you need any, “status check” inspections will be done at your business.
You can check the status of your MMCC while your application is being processed. Once your application is approved, your MMCC will be emailed to you. At that point, you can give the MMCC letter to OMMA as part of their application for a business license.
